Highlights of the Inaugural Latina Researcher Conference

* There were almost 200 researchers, scholars and promising investigators from all over the country and every level of academia: from undergraduates and doctoral students to post-doctorate fellows and tenure faculty

* Diverse fields were represented at the conference, from social work, to epidemiology, to counseling psychology and education

* The amazing speakers covered critical topics including funding resources and opportunities, navigating the tenure process, opportunities and challenges to successful academic positions, and healing the mind and body divide

* Students and junior investigators had the opportunity to meet and network with senior scholars and researchers during the evening receptions, over great food and music

* There was a wonderful showcase of promising students and junior investigators' research during the poster session
